I Attended The World Premiere of Bridget Jones’s Baby! (7 min read)

Hi guys, I hope that you’re all having a great day!

So while you’re here you either:

a) waited to find out what event I went to because you read the London: Sightseeing Gallery and Surprises post.

b) you just came across this post and want to check it out.

A big welcome to you all! Please follow my blog and stick around for the future posts 🙂

So on the 5th of September 2016 I was mega lucky to end up in the VIP section of the Bridget Jones’s Baby World Premiere in London. It was held in the Odeon Cinema near Covent Gardens and by far makes it the second most exciting event that I have attended in my life! (The first one will always be the Queen’s Garden Party).

IMG_7531.JPG

That day casually started off with sightseeing and finished off meeting so many celebrities. To find out who I met/saw carry on reading!

As I arrived at the event I was let through to the VIP section, right beside the pink carpet, which gave me an amazing opportunity to take close up photos and sometimes even speak to one or two amazing people & share the experience with you guys!

IMG_7539.JPG

Lets start off by listing celebrities that I have come close to:

Renée Zellweger, Patrick Dempsey, Colin Firth, Celia Imrie, Ellie Goulding, Jade Jones, Zara Holland, Sharon Maguire, Sarah Solemani, Emre Turkmen (Years & Years), Marvin Humes, Rochelle Humes, Sally Phillips, Helen Fielding, Gemma Jones, Neil Pearson and one of my favourite Youtubers EVER Louise Pentland!

Check out the photos, they always speak more than words:

It was my first premiere and everything seemed so exciting. At the start there was a fun host who got the audience involved and warmed up before all the celebrities arrived. There was a DJ, lots of press and all together a great atmosphere.

Few hours into the event the cinema began to play snippets of the movie and showed live interviews. I was over the moon with how the night had gone so far, then one of the security guys came over and told me that I can personally meet Renée Zellweger and have a chat with her. I freaked out! To make it even better, that same security man saw that I forgot a notepad to get an autograph on, so he gave me one of the massive cardboard posters to keep. #foreverthankful

As I was put on a spot to speak to Renée, nothing amusing came out of me – just the usual “omg I love you and the movie, you look perfect in your outfit today…” that she probably hears a million times during a World Premiere. Good one Karolina, she was meant to remember you from then on. But she was the most down to earth celebrity! So kind, nice and even told me that I looked beautiful. Of course she also signed that massive piece of cardboard I had.

On one side I was so chuffed that I now had a signed piece of merchandise, but on the other I now had to travel with it from London all the way back home to Scotland.

FullSizeRender.jpg

To this day I have no idea what to do with it? It’s so massive! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Overall, it was such a great experience and if I ever get another opportunity to attend a premiere then I’ll be there within a heart beat. All I have to do now is actually find time to go to the cinema and watch Bridget Jones’s Baby properly!

Have you ever gone to a movie premiere? Have you already watched this movie or not yet?

London Sea Life Aquarium: Way Too Much Fun (5 min read)

Hey you all!

Have you read my London: Sightseeing Gallery & Surprises post? If yes then great, if not then definitely give it a look! 🙂

Now let’s bring out your inner child in this post as we will see so many cool creatures.

P.s some photos may be quite dark because I was not allowed to put my flash on in case it scared the animals! Hope you understand. x

Enjoy!

IMG_7403.JPG

First awesome attraction is the clear glass tunnel as you walk into the building. It was actually quite scary to walk next to massive sharks! So much trust had to be put in to that glass layer.

Generally speaking I was so happy to be able to visit this aquarium. It was for sure the biggest that I’ve ever been to and the animals seemed to be looked after well.

That place literally made me turn into a little girl again, who got very excited to see wee fish and weird sea creatures.

This Sea Life aquarium had different sections, dividing species from different parts of the world. There was so much to look at!

IMG_7409.JPG

Above are some strange looking types of star fish, although I can’t remember what they were called.

IMG_7411.JPG

And here are some funky, living plants! By living I mean they moved all the time and in their own way interacted with the little fish in their tank. Or maybe this was some type of fish and not a plant? But I don’t see a tale…? If anyone knows what this is please tell me haha!

IMG_7413.JPG

I was told that the above star fish is the biggest of its kind in Europe (for now). The photo doesn’t do the justice, it was at least twice as big as my hand in reality!

Octopuses. They love to play with toys and perform logical tasks, I mean I did not know that they are so intelligent! Did you?

IMG_7416.JPG

* A grumpy fish.*

IMG_7418.JPG

I’m literally so bad at naming sea species, I do apologise! But this one was so funny! It kept trying to make me laugh and played peek-a-boo for ages!

IMG_7425.JPG

At the time of my visit, this aquarium was sponsoring and promoting Finding Dory. There was a whole room dedicated to the movie with all the fish that played in it too!

IMG_7445.JPG

Whenever anyone asks me what my favourite animal is, I will always say turtles and tortoises!

The photo above is hilarious. Imagine if the turtles were having a serious meeting and there was me standing staring at them haha!

I must say I was very surprised to see a penguin section. Me and Lyall must have watched them for a good half an hour, observing how they play in the water and run around! There was a bit to peek your head through into their home, and once again I made a little penguin friend. Lyall wanted one too, but no penguin came to see him… *sad violin music played*.

Lastly, as you exit the building there is a cake that you walk in to see the sharks up close. A good way to end the sea life tour!

Overall, I would definitely go back to this aquarium. There were so many different species to see and the place provides you with lots of information around the fish tanks so you learn. Although, as you could probably tell I didn’t really learn many fish names … oops.

What’s your favourite animal? Let me know 🙂

London: Sightseeing Gallery & Surprises (5 min read)

Hi everyone! 🙂

As you may have read in the London Baby! post I had the chance to be there for four days. Today I will share with you my favourite places I saw and experiences I had while on the trip.

Enjoy!

IMG_7393.JPG

For out trip we have stayed with Lyall’s family, in the lovely town of Weybridge, and so we had to take the train to London on most days.

IMG_7394.JPG

Of course the first noticeable thing we went to see was the London Eye. It’s massive! We did not go on it during this trip as we already have done so back in 2013. For those wondering it takes around 30 minutes for the London Eye to spin once. You do get a wonderful view of London though, so if you ever get the chance to then definitely go on it!

IMG_7396.JPG

That day was so gloomy and rainy … but it’s okay, I’m so used to this weather anyway haha!

IMG_7401.JPG

I could not resist walking into the Shrek’s Adventure’s gift shop, I mean look at those adorable baby Shrek’s and the Gingerbread Man! I wanted them all!

IMG_7411.JPG

I then went to the London Sea Life Aquarium – so amazing! I took so many photos there that I will need to make another post on it, so keep your eyes out for this as it will be up tomorrow (Saturday).

IMG_7475.JPG

By the time that I got out of the London Sea Life Aquarium the rain had stopped, yay, and we could finally continue exploring the city without an umbrella.

IMG_7478.JPG

The next big attraction was the Palace of Westminster and Big Ben. It was then that I was told that Big Ben was in fact the bell inside of the clock. Who knew this before? I was mind blown haha!

IMG_7486.JPG

IMG_7490.JPG

*Lyall being a typical tourist*

IMG_7492.JPG

IMG_7494.JPG

IMG_7497.JPG

To travel around London we have in fact hired bicycles for the day, it was such a great idea! Not only did I exercise while sightseeing, but we were not stuck in the traffic once and did not have to worry about parking. I wish more (if any) cities in Scotland had bike hire stations.

IMG_7498.JPG

img_7523

The Buckingham Palace. I hope that one day I get the chance to tour it inside!

IMG_7524.JPG

I can’t believe that these guards have to stand there all day long with minimal movement. I could never do that for living!

IMG_7525.JPG

It’s also so funny to look back at photos I took and see people posing or taking their own photos.

bpalace.jpg

IMG_7526.JPG

I took the underground once or twice and It was so confusing. You need to get on or off so fast that it leaves you minimal time to think. I admire people who take it daily – you must be pro’s!

IMG_7527.JPG

And my favourite place to spend time in London is for sure the Trafalgar Square. There are always so many talented people showcasing their work there and you have plenty of restaurants/shops around to buy food from and enjoy it at the Square.

Lastly, on our final night in London I had a big surprise! Below is a little hint for you guys that are curious what it is and can maybe figure? You will find out exactly where I was or what I did on Monday’s post! *exciting*. 🙂

Hi,

I don’t know about you but I have a weakness for rose gold jewellery. Especially any rose gold details – I buy it instantly.

This month I was very fortunate to get this gorgeous piece sent to me by the wonderful team at Secret Halo.

Now let’s all enjoy reading this post!

Secret Halo allows you to browse through many great jewellery pieces from other brands all in one place. Isn’t this just mega handy?

As their website states:

“Bringing you the most exciting and newest collections from top designers, best bits from the best brands and fresh talent from independent jewellery crafters from around the world.”

When I had a little nosy around their website one brand stood out to me that I never heard of before – it was Joma Jewellery London. Luckily for me Secret Halo chose to send me one of their bestsellers.

First of all, can we all take a moment to appreciate how gorgeous the envelope was? It got me so excited to open this parcel!

IMG_5453

They made a lot of effort in wrapping up the bracelet too!

IMG_5454

When I unwrapped the grey tissue, the first thing to see was this leaflet.

IMG_5455

Under the leaflet there was this cute box! Joma Jewellery has such a classic packaging to it, I adore it.

July Favourites (2015) (3 min read)

Hi everyone!

Since today is the last day of July, I have decided to share with you guys my favourites for this month including; beauty, hair care, perfumes, a movie and some music! I hope you enjoy reading this post, so without further do let’s jump right into it! *This post isn’t sponsored and all opinions are my own! :)*.

1. Rimmel London – Lasting Finish Primer

IMG_8458

I really like this primer because it is 30ml’s which is actually pretty big as for a drug-store one and so will last for a lot of applications. I find that it’s very light on your skin and makes it appear one toned so that the foundation looks really good after you apply it. In addition, this primer makes your foundation stay on much longer, even during a very active day! You can buy this product here.

2. Zoella Beauty Make-Up Bag

IMG_8452

I am a big Zoella fan for those of you who don’t know, and so when her first beauty range launched I was really excited! This make-up bag is being well used; it is big enough to fit in all my beauty essentials and it is super cute. Love it. You can buy this product here.

3. Avon Make-Up Setting Spray

IMG_8453

This is such a great product! I always use this spray to set my make-up before I leave my house. It helps to protect my make-up from humidity and smudging, dries very quickly and is non-sticky. This spray also contains some goodies for your face -vitamins A,C and E- wow, what more do you need girl?  If you are looking for a make-up setting spray but are unsure of spending lots of money on it, this Avon one would be a great starter. You can buy this product here.

4. Bare Minerals Quick Change Brush Cleanser

IMG_8451

I think it it very important to regularly clean your make-up brushes to keep them clean, remove dead skin, get rid of any bacteria and avoid break outs! So to clean my brushes I love using the Bare Minerals quick change brush cleanser – it is 110ml so will last for a very long time, it smells amazing and really gets the products off of your brushes! This brush cleanser contains ingredients that are gentle and really benefiting for your skin when you next use them. I would really recommend it to you all! You can buy this product here.

5. Superdrug’s Own Brand Coconut Oil

IMG_8449

I use this goodie everyday, especially during summer! I use it for taking off my make-up, apply it before and after sunbathing and often mix it with sugar to make a lip scrub. I know that the product states it is a skin softener, but you can also use it as a hair mask overnight and it really works wonders! It stimulated my hair to grow faster, get healthier and prevent split ends and frizz. I love the sweet scent of a coconut and how it melts into a lovely oil in your hands! You can buy this product here.

6. Macadamia Oil Extract Hair Treatment

IMG_8457

This oil is just as good as the argan oil, and is much cheaper within the stores. I usually use it on the bottom of my hair after I wash and towel dry it. It will make your hair silky smooth and add a healthy glow to it. I can’t find a link to this exact product but there are plenty of brands which do macadamia oil treatment.

7. Toni&Guy Cleanse Dry Shampoo

IMG_8455 (1)

This is my favourite dry shampoo ever. I use it all the time in between washing my hair – it refreshes it, takes any excess oil away making it less greasy after each application! So if you are looking to switch from your classical Batiste dry shampoo to a new brand, I really recommend this Tony&Guy one. I feel like it doesn’t get enough hype on the market and it truly deserves it, as it works miracles. You can but this product here.

8. Daisy by Marc Jacobs

IMG_8454

This perfume is so heavenly and makes me feel very confident when I wear it. The scent is very feminine and kind of floral, for sure lasts for ages. It is more on the pricey side, but it is always good to treat yourself once in a while right?! The bottle is so cute and will look adorable on your dressing table, just like it does on mine. You can buy this product here.

9. Movie – Jurassic World

Recently my boyfriend took me to the cinema to see Jurassic World. I was never a fan of dinosaurs or action movies, but I really enjoyed watching this one! It was a great twist between a family having an adventure, and living the future where the dinosaurs were kept into a kind of  a ‘zoo’ on an island. It was really exciting, so please give this movie a chance like I did, and you might even love it! ( Don’t make my mistake and actually watch the previous Jurassic movies haha!).

10. Music

My two favourite songs this month are: Are You With Me by Lost Frequencies and Double Tap by Jordin Sparks.

I never usually listen to that kind of music, but these two songs are so catchy and have constantly been stuck in my head!

Thanks for reading, and if you enjoyed this July favourites post be sure to like and comment so I know if to write one for next month too! Subscribe and share for future posts and I shall speak to all of you in the next one!
